Styling Your Home This Fall

Autumn is in full swing here in the Carolinas, which means temperatures are dropping, leaves are falling, and our team here at HBD Interiors has been busy helping clients get their homes ready for the upcoming holidays. Seasons change, and so should your décor! Autumn is one of our favorite seasons to decorate for- here are a few tips on what we like to do!

First Impressions: Along with cozy sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes, the fall months bring cheerful get-togethers with friends and family. We like to make sure your home feels equally as inviting on the outside as it does on the inside.

We love mixing planters, mums, pumpkins, and layered welcome mats to establish a warm and welcoming entrance! If you are feeling extra fun, we recommend mixing different shapes, sizes, colors, and types of pumpkins!

Textures and Prints: Falls favorite print is plaid, and you can find so many places around the home to incorporate this. We recommend starting small with a toss pillow or throw blanket and mixing in different tones/textures to bring everything together.

Fall Focal Point: The fireplace is typically the focal point of your family room, which is why you should give it a refresh for the new season. You do not need to start over with all new décor, instead, try mixing in your fall décor with your year-round pieces! You may need to swap a few items out but it will feel more lived-in and personal.

Keep It Cozy: There is nothing better than coming home to a warm and cozy house. We love incorporating faux fur rugs and extra chunky blankets during this time of year. Layering different textures can help you achieve that cozy feeling that we crave in the fall. We also stock up on candles to make the space feel extra peaceful.

Keeping your home styled for the new season can feel overwhelming- but with a clear plan (and plenty of Pinterest inspiration) it can be a lot of fun! Our team at HBD Interiors can work with you and answer any questions you may have.  You can contact us for more information! Happy Styling!
